illy -The Perfect Espresso

A light to reddish brown cream with occasional dark brown streaks. Long lasting, 3-4 mm high foam. Dense body, full aroma, sweet flavour and lingering aftertaste. Real espresso is obtained by passing water under pressure (9 atmospheres) at a temperature of 90°C through a dose of pressed coffee. In the vast coffee market, illy is dedicated exclusively to the noble segment of espresso.

Sheraton Fiji Resort and Sheraton Royal Denarau Resort were the first to change to illy coffee and thus becoming our first customers to serve illy coffee in Fiji.

Illy’s Mr Richard Sain, Honoured Guest of Punjas

Mr. Richard Sain, Export Manager, illy Italy is primarily here to celebrate the first anniversary of illy coffee introduction in the Fiji market and to gain a better understanding of the Pacific market.

Mr. Sain, a luminary in the coffee trade, is a graduate from the University of Manchester and had thereafter pursued specialised education from the University of Coffee in Trieste, Italy. He is in charge of United Kingdom, India and the Pacific Market.

After his arrival on Thursday, October 20th, 2005,he will undertake a brief tour, visiting customers in Fiji who are presently serving illy coffee.

He is excited about the potential for illy in the Fiji market basically due to Fiji being a growing tourist destination and the work carried out by Punjas in the last one year has made it a promising market. He adds: “Due to its spread world over, it is of utmost importance to us that illy is available Pacific-wide even in the most remotest of locations.”

Through the course of his visit, he will visit the company's factories & premises located in Lautoka.
